FAQ
Practical answers about LED wall products, pixel pitch, COB vs SMD, viewing distance, brightness, installation, maintenance and corporate LED display applications in Singapore.
An LED wall is a direct-view display built from LED modules or cabinets joined together to create one large image. Because the modules form the image directly, the display can be scaled to suit many corporate wall sizes and aspect ratios.
An LED wall uses direct-view LED modules to create a seamless image. A traditional LCD video wall uses multiple flat panels, so narrow bezels remain visible between panels. Both can be suitable depending on viewing distance, content and budget.
Pixel pitch is the distance between adjacent LED pixels, measured in millimetres. A smaller number generally means higher pixel density and better suitability for closer viewing.
The right pitch depends on the nearest viewing distance, display size and the type of content. Fine-pitch options such as P0.9, P1.2, P1.5 and P1.8 are commonly considered for corporate rooms where viewers sit relatively close.
Not automatically. P1.2 has greater pixel density, but P1.5 may provide the required image quality at a lower cost. The best choice depends on viewing distance, screen dimensions, content and budget.
COB, or chip-on-board, places LED chips directly onto the board and typically uses a protective surface layer. It is often considered for fine-pitch displays where close viewing, durability and a uniform surface are important.
COB and SMD use different LED packaging methods. COB can provide a protected fine-pitch surface, while SMD is an established commercial LED technology available in a wide range of pitches and cabinet formats.
Yes. An LED wall can accept 4K content, but the wall’s native pixel resolution depends on its physical dimensions and pixel pitch. A processor can scale incoming content to the display’s native resolution.
Yes. A 16:9 LED wall is often desirable for presentations and video conferencing because it aligns with common source formats. Cabinet dimensions and pixel pitch should be planned so the final canvas is close to the required aspect ratio.
Brightness should match the room rather than simply being maximised. Boardrooms with controlled lighting usually need less brightness than reception areas with significant daylight or ambient light.
LED wall cost depends on screen size, pixel pitch, LED technology, brightness, processor, mounting structure, installation complexity, redundancy and support. A site survey and design review are the best way to establish a meaningful project budget.
Installation time varies with size, mounting structure, room readiness, electrical and data works, integration and testing. A straightforward corporate installation may be completed relatively quickly, while larger or architecturally integrated systems require more planning.
Commercial LED displays are designed for long operating life, but actual performance depends on product quality, brightness settings, temperature, operating hours, maintenance and component replacement over time.
Yes. Modular construction is one of the service advantages of direct-view LED. Individual modules, power supplies and receiving components can typically be serviced or replaced without replacing the entire display.
Maintenance normally includes visual inspection, cleaning where appropriate, checking modules and power components, verifying calibration and keeping suitable spare parts. Access strategy should be planned before installation.
Yes. An LED wall can be integrated into a wider AV system with video conferencing, switching, presentation sources, cameras, microphones, speakers and control systems. The display should be designed together with the room workflow.
Common environments include boardrooms, auditoriums, command centres, receptions, training rooms and town halls where seamless large-format visuals, visibility and presentation impact are important.
The current portfolio includes Samsung, MAXHUB, ViewSonic, HDC, ARISELED and KMTEKLED. Brand selection depends on the application, pixel pitch, brightness, form factor, support requirements and project budget.
Yes. VisionCast provides consultation, design, product selection, installation, integration, testing and ongoing support for corporate LED wall projects in Singapore.
